The Higher Education department is providing all assistance in this regard. However, there is need to increase awareness among elderly people about how to ensure safe use of smart phones, so that they do not fall prey to cybercrimes and online frauds, Mr. Chennithala said.
The function also saw the declaration of cyber first responders, cyber safe villages, and cyber resilient centres. Mayor V.K. Minimol and State Police Chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar.
