The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has invited management of all technical universities and national leaders of the Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (TUTAG) to a meeting to address concerns raised by the association amid its ongoing industrial action.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ahmed Jinapor Room of the GTEC Conference Hall.

In an invitation letter issued on October 21, the Commission said the meeting would bring together vice-chancellors, finance directors, registrars and union representatives to discuss TUTAG’s concerns and explore ways to address the issues raised.

“This meeting aims to bring together management, financial leadership, and union representatives to foster an open dialogue, address current challenges, and discuss TUTAG’s concerns,” GTEC said.

The Commission stressed the importance of the discussions to maintaining institutional harmony and promoting academic excellence, urging the invited stakeholders to attend and contribute to the deliberations.

“Given the importance of this policy discussion to institutional harmony and academic excellence, your personal attendance and expertise will be highly valued,” the invitation stated.

GTEC has also asked the invitees to confirm the number of representatives expected to attend to facilitate logistical arrangements.

The meeting comes as efforts continue to resolve the concerns underpinning TUTAG’s industrial action, which has affected technical universities.

Meanwhile, TUTAG’s national executive is expected to convene an Extraordinary Congress on Monday, October 26, to deliberate on proposals and a position presented by the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities Ghana (VCTU-G) towards a possible suspension of the strike.
