Tiruppavai processions to be held in 84 Divya Desams
The Bhagavath Ramanuja Sampradaya Sabha (BRSS) has decided to organise Tiruppavai street processions in 84 Divya Desams in Tamil Nadu on the second Saturday of the Tamil month of ‘Margazhi’.
The decision was taken at the Sabha’s first anniversary at Srirangam on Sunday. The sabha functions under the aegis of Sri Ramanuja Acharya Peetam (SRAP). The proposed Tiruppavai processions would be organised in localities with the presence of ordinary and economically weaker sections of society so that the spiritual and cultural significance of the verses could reach a wider audience.
The celebration was presided over by Thirukovilur Dehalisa Ramanujacharya Jeeyar, the working president of SRAP, who delivered the presidential address. The Chief Executive Officer of the sabha Americai V. Narayanan was present.
Mr. Narayanan said the sabha was committed to preserving and propagating the philosophy and teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya and ensuring that they reached the future generations. The sabha’s founding charter that establishes the principles, responsibilities, and framework for taking forward the teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya was released at the function. It was received by several pontiffs, jeeyars, and administrators.
An online e-magazine titled Vaachasudha was launched on the occasion.
Over 20 jeeyars and acharyas, including Mudaliandan Swamigal and Melkote Ayi Swamigal participated in the celebration, a press release from the sabha said.
