BJP conspiring to delete 20 crore votes, says CM Revanth

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy waves to Congress cadre at the Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi on November 1.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy accused the BJP-led Central government of conspiring to delete nearly 20 crore votes to influence the electoral outcomes and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was targeting the poor, Dalits, Adivasis and women for not giving the BJP a mandate of 400 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing thousands of Congress leaders and workers from Telangana at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday, ahead of the INDIA Bloc’s ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ rally at Ramlila Maidan, Mr. Reddy claimed that 13.5 crore votes had already been deleted while another 20 crore votes were being targeted, amounting to 15% to 20% of the total electorate.

He accused the BJP of using voter deletions to secure political advantages in Bihar, Maharashtra and West Bengal and attempting to repeat the exercise to retain power.

Mr. Reddy alleged that the BJP wanted to secure more than 400 seats to amend the Constitution and abolish reservations. Having failed, the Prime Minister had allegedly developed a grudge against weaker sections and was now attempting to deprive them of their voting rights.

He said that while B.R. Ambedkar guaranteed the right to vote to every Indian, the Prime Minister was allegedly using Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to undermine that fundamental democratic right.

The Chief Minister said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had taken the initiative to organise the rally under the INDIA Bloc banner to expose the alleged attempts to manipulate electoral rolls and protect democratic institutions.

Drawing a parallel with the Ramayana, he said that just as an army of Vanaras had helped Lord Rama defeat Ravana, the Congress ‘Vanara Sena’ would fight to defeat Mr. Modi.

Earlier, the Chief Minister received a grand welcome at Telangana Bhavan, where thousands of Congress leaders and workers from the State had assembled. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and other Ministers spoke.
