APC denies alliance with Bauchi governor but invites him to join party

The APC denied the alleged alliance, citing Governor Mohammed’s continued association with and campaigning alongside candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), including its presidential candidate.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed

The Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked rumours of a political alliance with Governor Bala Mohammed, saying no political agreement exists between the party and the governor outside the official APC platform.

In a press statement issued by its state publicity secretary, Shehu Dauda, the party described claims of an understanding as baseless and urged the public to treat such reports with caution unless supported by credible evidence.

The APC noted Governor Mohammed’s continued association with and campaigning alongside candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), including its presidential candidate.

According to the party, the activities contradict any claims of a political arrangement with the ruling party at the national level.

While acknowledging Governor Mohammed’s recent appreciation of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, economic reforms, and health sector interventions, the APC urged him to end his political association with the APM and formally cross over to the APC.

“If the governor genuinely wishes to align Bauchi State with the federal government’s development agenda, joining the APC would provide a clear and consistent political platform for cooperation, coordination, and the advancement of the interests of the people of Bauchi State,” the statement read.

The party stated that Bauchi State is too strategic to remain outside Nigeria’s mainstream political alignment, noting that joining the APC would enhance state-federal collaboration, attract more development opportunities, and improve citizens’ access to federal programmes.

Reaffirming its commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Bauchi APC urged residents of the state to remain calm, discerning, and focused on good governance, unity, and development.
