The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cancelled the two-day mid-term break scheduled for basic schools on November 5 and 6, 2026, as part of efforts to make up for instructional time lost during the recent industrial action.

In a notice to the public, GES Management said all basic schools are expected to remain open and continue normal academic activities on both days.

The cancellation means pupils and teachers will not observe the scheduled break and are expected to report to school as usual on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6.

The Service has urged teachers, students, parents and guardians to take note of the change and be guided accordingly.
