Elaborate arrangements are in place for counting votes in the urban local body elections across Chittoor, Annamayya, and Sri Sathya Sai districts on Tuesday (November 3, 2026), with officials intensifying security to ensure a tension-free and transparent declaration of results.

Annamayya district Collector Nishant Kumar inspected the strong rooms and counting centres in Madanapalle, while Chittoor Collector Sumit Kumar reviewed the arrangements in Chittoor on Monday (November 2). In Sri Sathya Sai district, SP S. Satish Kumar inspected the strong rooms in Dharmavaram and reviewed security arrangements.

“Heavy police bandobast has been deployed at counting centres, with special focus on preventing unauthorised entry, maintaining law and order and avoiding clashes between political groups. Strong rooms housing ballot boxes are under round-the-clock security,” said Sumit Kumar.

“CCTV surveillance and strict entry regulations will be enforced at counting venues. Candidates and their authorised counting agents only will be allowed inside after verification,” Sri Sathya Sai district Collector A. Shyam Prasad said.
