Honouring Legacies: Deloitte celebrates former partners in a bid to deepen mentorship

As part of its commitment to honour past partners, Deloitte Ghana has hosted retired and current partners in a special engagement to celebrate the firm's legacy, deepen mentorship across generations, and strengthen professional bonds.

The gathering provided a unique platform for former leaders to share insights and experiences with the current partnership, while reaffirming the values and culture that have guided the firm's growth.

The occasion also provided a moment to reflect on the firm's remarkable growth journey. "It is wonderful to see how far the firm has come. From four partners in 2016, we have grown to fourteen in 2026. Quite a journey in ten years that we should all be proud of." Daniel Owusu, the country Managing Partner said.

Beyond celebrating its history and leadership, Deloitte Ghana highlighted how its culture of service extends into the wider community.

"That spirit continues beyond our offices. Whether it is in our tree-planting activities to support Earth Day, our Deloitte Volunteer Day visits to schools, or the opening of school libraries, we look to make an impact that matters in our communities," Mr Owusu continued.

West African CEO of the firm, Yomi Olugbenro emphasised the belief that leadership extends beyond the workplace, noting the need for the firm to deepen mentorship across generations. He added that periodic activities such as these improve the younger generation and the future of the firm.

Delighted at the gesture, Mr. Kwame kye, a former Managing Partner shared fond memories of the growth of the firm. He applauded leadership for the level of transformation and charged them to make an impact that matters.

Meanwhile, Abena Biney, an Audit Partner and lead for alumni relations at Deloitte shed more light on the event; "this event honours where the firm began and the people who built its foundation, ahead of its continued growth. It is also an opportunity to promote knowledge sharing, mentorship, and future collaboration among those who have contributed to our success over the years."

The firm's commitment to societal impact has delivered tangible results. In 2023, Deloitte Ghana planted more than 1,100 trees and visited two clusters of primary and junior high schools through Deloitte Volunteer Day. Through the Deloitte Global WorldClass programme, the firm also established eight school libraries, providing more than 23,000 learners with access to educational resources.

These initiatives demonstrate how Deloitte Ghana's legacy is being carried forward, not only through business growth and leadership development, but also through purposeful actions that create lasting value for communities.
