Sanction 2,000 Indiramma houses per Assembly constituency within a week: Telangana Housing MD

Telangana Housing Corporation’s Managing Director V.P. Gautham during a meeting with Project Directors and Deputy Engineers, in Hyderabad on Monday.

Telangana Housing Department officials were directed to complete the sanctioning process of 2,000 Indiramma houses per Assembly constituency, under the second phase of the scheme, in a week’s time. First priority would be given to people living in huts.

With the success of the first phase of the housing project, people are eagerly waiting for the second phase, said the Corporation’s Managing Director V.P. Gautham. Selection process, remedies to delays in clearing bills for the beneficiaries, awareness of government facilitated cement bags and other aspects were discussed at a meeting with district project directors and deputy engineers, in Hyderabad on Monday (November 2, 2026).

Around 3.3 lakh houses were sanctioned under the first phase, and construction of around 2 lakh of them has been completed.

Mr. Gautham said that the State government issued guidelines for selection of beneficiaries who live in huts, which have to be adhered to. The officials were directed to allocate houses in coordination with public representatives and district in-charge ministers.

Awareness has to be created among people about the facility created by the government for the beneficiaries to buy cement at lower prices. The project directors were asked to inform people of the option to self-upload photos (of the houses) online to avoid delays in getting bills cleared.
