The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on October 30, 2026, held a graduation ceremony for 978 students from the Faculty of Accounting and Finance who graduated with bachelor’s degrees and diplomas.

The ceremony, held in the university’s Kofi Konadu auditorium, brought together graduands, their families, friends, lecturers and management of the university to celebrate years of hard work, sacrifice and academic achievement.

The graduands completed programmes in accounting, finance, banking and related fields, which are critical to the growth of Ghana’s financial sector and the wider economy.

Addressing the congregation, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, congratulated the graduands on their achievement and reminded them that graduation was not the end of learning but the beginning of a new chapter of responsibility, service and leadership.

He urged the graduands to uphold the values of discipline, integrity and professionalism that UPSA is known for, and to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired to make a positive impact in their workplaces and communities.

He said accountants and finance professionals must continue to upgrade their skills to remain relevant.

Some of the graduands also shared their excitement, saying the journey had not been easy but the support of lecturers, family and friends had helped them to succeed.

The congregation formed part of UPSA’s graduation ceremonies for the 2025/2026 academic year, during which thousands of students from various faculties are being presented with degrees and diplomas.

UPSA, which started as the Institute of Professional Studies, has grown into one of Ghana’s leading universities for professional and business education, with a strong reputation for producing graduates for the public and private sectors.

As the 978 graduands from the Faculty of Accounting and Finance step into the world of work, they carry with them not only certificates but also the expectations of their families, the university, and the nation to contribute to Ghana’s development.
