Three arrested for abusing woman, smashing her car in Koramangala over road rage
Three men who allegedly abused a woman motorist, hurled a stone at her car, smashed the car’s windows and damaged the vehicle with helmets following a road-rage incident have been arrested by the Koramangala police.
The incident occurred around 11.10 a.m. on October 28, when the woman was driving along the Ring Road near the BDA Complex in Koramangala’s 3rd Block. According to her complaint, three men riding a white scooter allegedly hit the right side of her car and subsequently moved alongside the vehicle to pick a quarrel with her.
When she asked them to drive carefully, the accused allegedly abused her using obscene and derogatory language, including sexually coloured remarks targeting her and her mother.
When the woman objected, the men allegedly attempted to break the left-side window of her car. After failing to do so, one of them picked up a large stone lying on the roadside and hurled it at the vehicle. They then removed their helmets and repeatedly struck the car, damaging its left side and breaking the rear-view mirror.
When the woman got down to question them, one of the accused allegedly attempted to assault her. The trio subsequently fled the scene. The entire incident was recorded on a mobile phone by one of the passersby and was uploaded to social media.
On Tuesday, the police traced and arrested all three accused identified as Shivakumar, 20, Ismail Zabiullah, 25, and Prashanth Pennaswamy, 27. The trio are working odd jobs.
