Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asked officials of the Irrigation department to maintain a good rapport and continue the dialogue with the Maharashtra Government on the proposed construction of a barrage at Tummidihatti across the Pranahita river.
At a meeting with the irrigation officials and attended by Minister for Irrigation N. He stressed that all relevant documents including existing agreements and other important issues should be exchanged with the Maharashtra Government.
The Chief Minister told the irrigation officials that the government is prepared to provide adequate compensation for lands likely to be submerged in Maharashtra and also ready to deposit funds into a joint account of the two State Governments and also apprised them of the recent discussions held with Maharashtra.
He made it clear that Telangana would not object to Maharashtra to conduct its own survey on the potential submergence of lands. The officials were ordered to furnish all the information sought by Maharashtra in a timely manner. Irrigation Advisor Adityanath Das, Secretary E. Sridhar, Engineer-in-Chief O.V.
