Minority Chief Whip and Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has received two awards for his advocacy on environmental sustainability and efforts to advance green legislation.

He received the Green Societal Impact and Sustainability Ambassadorial Award and the ICESDA Green Capital Partnership Award at the third International Conference on ESG and Sustainable Development of Africa (ICESDA).

The conference was held under the theme, “The Africa We Want: Driving Transformational Inclusive Green Growth Through ESG and Digitalisation.”

Presenters recognised the MP’s efforts to bring community-level environmental concerns to Parliament and support legislative action on sustainability. They highlighted his advocacy at times when such issues attracted limited political attention.

The Green Societal Impact and Sustainability Ambassadorial Award acknowledged his contribution to promoting environmental concerns through Parliament. He also received the ICESDA Green Capital Partnership Award at the ceremony.

The recognition highlighted lawmakers' role in connecting environmental challenges in their constituencies to national policymaking. Presenters also stressed the importance of considering environmental evidence when debating and passing legislation.

The conference brought together stakeholders to examine how environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, alongside digital technologies, could support Africa’s development.

Discussions focused on inclusive green growth and the need for collaboration among policymakers, businesses and civil society organisations to balance economic development with environmental protection.
