Nairobi ODM MCAs allied to Sifuna face removal from key Assembly positions

A motion is ready and would be tabled any moment from now.

The Nairobi City County Assembly in session on June 23, 2026.

Members of the Nairobi County Assembly allied to the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) of Senator Edwin Sifuna are set to be removed from their influential positions in the House.

According to credible sources at City Hall, the move is in response to two MCAs' continued support for the rival party, despite having been elected and nominated to the Assembly on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in the 2022 polls.

Poghisio is the latest defector, having left Gideon Moi's Kanu for ODM.

Over the weekend, she skipped both Linda Mwananchi and ODM events.

Sakaja, Karauri and Aladwa appear set for a bruising battle for ODM's ticket.

Enhanced security features like serialisation and smart padlocks have been used to seal leak loopholes.
