Ponnam pays tributes to RTC conductor who succumbed to injuries, post attack

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday paid his respects to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) conductor G Pravalika, who succumbed to injuries after she was pushed off a bus near Mittagudem.

Mr Prabhakar said that the government would provide a job and an Indiramma house to Pravalika’s mother. The government and TGSRTC would jointly provide ₹10 lakh as ex gratia, while the family would receive an additional ₹1 crore as accident insurance compensation.

The Transport Minister was accompanied by TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director V Nagi Reddy as they paid tributes to Pravallika’s mortal remains at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary. They reiterated that the loss of an RTC worker was deeply painful and assured the family of the corporation’s support.

Mr Prabhakar said the management had rushed to the hospital immediately after the incident and made efforts to ensure that Pravalika received the best possible treatment, but she could not be saved. The accused had initially been booked for attempt to murder, and a murder case had now been registered, he said. Stringent action per the law would be taken against the accused, he said.
