AP High Court directs Vizianagaram SP to produce impersonator in forged land deed case
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justices Battu Devanand and Tuhin Kumar Gedela, directed the Vizianagaram District Superintendent of Police (SP) to secure and produce Pundari Mamata before the court. Mamata is one of the respondents in a writ petition filed by Netula Sudharani, a resident of Vizianagaram. The petitioner alleged that Mamata, a stranger to her, had fabricated a false death certificate claiming that Sudharani had died.
Mamata subsequently claimed to be her daughter and allegedly illegally obtained a forged legal heir certificate. Using these forged documents, Mamata allegedly executed a fraudulent sale deed transferring a residential plot owned by Sudharani to one Ravi Kumar Naidu, who later mortgaged the property with Axis Bank. Appearing for the petitioner, Senior Counsel S.S.
Prasad told the court that Mamata had failed to appear either in person or through her advocate in spite of repeated court notices. Taking a serious note of the matter, the Bench observed that the allegations involved serious criminal offences including identity of theft, document fabrication and land grabbing. It is also noted that Mamata appeared to be deliberately avoiding appearance.
