Unpaid for 10 months, vocational trainers in Telangana seek govt. intervention

Unpaid for 10 months, vocational trainers in Telangana seek govt.

Vocational trainers in schools across Telangana have raised an alarm over unpaid salaries for the past 10 months and appealed to Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas to intervene and resolve their long-pending service-related grievances.

Representatives of the Telangana Vocational Trainers Association (TVTA) submitted a representation to Mr. Nicolas on Wednesday, highlighting the severe financial hardships faced by the trainers. Vocational trainers are employed in the State Model Schools, Zilla Parishad High Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Gurukul institutions.

The association, in their representation, stated that the prolonged delay in salary payments had pushed hundreds of vocational trainers and their families into financial distress. Despite their continued contribution to strengthening vocational education and imparting practical skills to students, the trainers alleged that their basic salary and service-related concerns remained unresolved.

They presented five demands to Mr. Nicolas for resolution. These include immediate release of 10 months of pending salaries, regular payment of monthly salaries on or before the first of every month, and implementation of a 12-month salary system to ensure financial stability, increase in casual leave entitlement and maternity leave for women trainers.
