Revanth asks officials to collect student feedback on school uniforms

Chief Minister reviews distribution of uniforms and student kits under various departments; directs officials to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure for the procurement and distribution of uniforms and other student supplies for the next academic year

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at a review meeting on distribution of uniform and skill kits to students.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to collect feedback from students on the uniforms being distributed to them and to pay special attention to the colours and designs of the uniforms for future procurement.

The Chief Minister reviewed the distribution of uniforms and student kits to beneficiaries of government hostels, residential schools and government schools under various departments on Wednesday. He noted that the uniforms supplied this year were of much better quality than in the past and featured more attractive colours and designs. However, he stressed the need to gather feedback from students regarding the selected colours and designs so that future uniforms could better reflect the preferences of the majority of students.

During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the distribution of uniforms and essential student items, including ties, belts, identity cards, shoes, socks, plates, glasses, bowls, carpets and school bags, was almost complete. They said that in a few institutions, the distribution of certain items had reached about 95%. Mr. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure that the remaining distribution is completed at the earliest.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the procurement and distribution of uniforms and other student supplies for the next academic year. He said the SOP should cover every stage, including finalising the list of items, tendering, procurement, supply and distribution, with strict timelines for completion.

Emphasising timely delivery, Mr. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to formulate an action plan from now itself to ensure that all uniforms and student kits are made available on the very first day of the new academic year when schools reopen.

The review meeting was attended by MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N. Sridhar, Special Chief Secretary (Welfare) Sabyasachi Ghosh, Principal Secretary for Tribal Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Rahul Bojja, and senior officials, including Shafiullah, Balamaya Devi, Vijayendra Boyi, Divya Devarajan, G. Ravi, B. Saidulu, B.M. Santosh, Naveen Nicholas, and Sita Lakshmi.
