Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency, has initiated steps to address the persistent challenge of inadequate classroom infrastructure in some communities within the constituency. The MP, together with Mr Daniel Mensah Wardy, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for AAK, jointly performed the ceremony to commence the construction of a three-unit classroom block, office and a store with ancillary facilities at Obenkrom, and a two-unit classroom block with the same facilities at Kwesi Amaa.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency, has initiated steps to address the persistent challenge of inadequate classroom infrastructure in some communities within the constituency.

A sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of several classroom blocks has therefore been held at Abura Dunkwa.

When completed, the classrooms would improve access to quality education and provide a more conducive teaching and learning environment, eliminating schools under trees and other unsuitable structures in Abura Dunkwa and its adjoining communities.

The Moree community, also in the AAK Constituency, is also to expect phase two of an ultramodern 12-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities and a two-unit classroom block with an office space, a store and ancillary facilities also earmarked for construction at Korado.

They also broke ground for Community Health Planning and Services Compounds at New Ebu and Katakyiase with an accommodation and a mechanised borehole projects and inspected a completed Free Primary Healthcare Post at Moree.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu, addressing the media after the tour, admitted that the constituency also had schools under trees which were being replaced with modern infrastructure.

He further underscored the importance of education as a critical driver of human development and national progress and indicated that addressing the infrastructural challenges of basic schools remained essential to ensuring that children in rural communities within AAK were not disadvantaged in their pursuit of education.

Classroom blocks to be completed within the next six months would be handed over to bring relief to beneficiary schools and help end the ‘Schools Under Trees’ phenomenon in AAK, the MP added.
