Parliament has announced accreditation requirements and operational guidelines for journalists and media organisations intending to cover the presentation of the 2027 Budget Statement by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson on Thursday, November 12, 2026. Dr Forson is scheduled to present the 2027 Budget Statement to Parliament in accordance with Article 179(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

Parliament has announced accreditation requirements and operational guidelines for journalists and media organisations intending to cover the presentation of the 2027 Budget Statement by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson on Thursday, November 12, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday, November 5, Parliament said journalists seeking to cover the presentation must obtain accreditation, warning that those without the required authorisation would be denied access to the event.

Interested journalists and media organisations have been directed to submit their accreditation applications by Monday, November 9, 2026.

The guidelines require accredited journalists to display their accreditation prominently throughout the event and restrict their activities to areas assigned to them.

Parliament has designated the foyer on the ground floor of the Chamber Block as the location for all interviews and live broadcasts.

However, access to the available space in the foyer will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The public gallery has been reserved for guests, with journalists expected to conduct their coverage primarily from the press gallery.

Parliament has also declared the Speaker's lobby out of bounds for photography, interviews and other media-related engagements.

As part of security arrangements for the event, all journalists and media organisations will be subjected to security screening, including checks on their equipment and gadgets.

Parliament has urged media organisations and reporters to comply strictly with the directives, saying the measures are intended to ensure adequate security and the successful conduct of the event.

Applications for accreditation are to be submitted via dsdmaoh@parliament.gh, while journalists seeking further information have been asked to contact the Director of Media Relations on 0240297110.

Dr Forson is scheduled to present the 2027 Budget Statement to Parliament in accordance with Article 179(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
