A.P. BJP urges fresh assessment of cumulative impact of twin cyclones

In letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party State president Madhav calls for comprehensive central support for the affected farmers and funds to restore damaged road and power networks
BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav has submitted a representation to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, detailing the extensive devastation caused across several districts by two successive natural disasters — Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab (October 26 to 28) and Severe Cyclonic Storm Murasu (November 2 to 4).
In a letter on Thursday, Mr. Madhav, while expressing sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Home Affairs for promptly despatching a Central team to assess the impact of Cyclone Arnab, noted that the subsequent onslaught of Cyclone Murasu severely aggravated the situation and compounded losses.
He urged the Centre to depute a fresh Central Assessment Team to evaluate the damage caused by Cyclone Murasu and assess the cumulative impact of both the storms
Furthermore, he sought comprehensive central support, including appropriate assistance for affected farmers through existing agricultural schemes and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, rehabilitation measures for horticulture, fisheries, aquaculture, animal husbandry, and dairy sectors, and funds to restore damaged infrastructure like roads and power networks.
Emphasising that thousands of rural families were struggling to recover from the destruction, the BJP leader requested the Union Home Minister's urgent intervention to coordinate relief and recovery efforts between the Central and State governments.
