New Abirem, Eastern Region, 27 October 2026: Ntiamoah Foundation has marked its 20th anniversary with two days of community engagement, project monitoring, health screening and donations to schools and healthcare facilities in the Birim North and South Districts of the Eastern Region.

Held on 26 and 27 October 2026, the activities formed part of the Foundation's anniversary celebrations under the theme BEYOND 20: From Impact to Legacy, marking two decades of service and reaffirming its commitment to expanding opportunities and strengthening communities.

Established in 2006 by the late Robert Kwaku Appiah Asante, the Foundation has invested the equivalent of over GH¢23 million in today's value in education, healthcare and community development, particularly in underserved communities in the Eastern Region.

Over the past two decades, the Foundation has supported 34 schools with early childhood learning resources, engaged approximately 6,500 young readers, established Reading Clubs in 18 schools and equipped three ICT laboratories with 96 computers. It has also provided scholarship support to 146 individuals, expanding educational opportunities for children and young people.

In healthcare, the Foundation has adopted and continues to support the maternity ward at New Abirem Government Hospital, strengthened 14 Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facilities, and facilitated 436 life-changing surgeries in partnership with others. It has also reached over 8,000 adolescent girls through menstrual health programmes and provided annual support to elderly community members.

The impact of these interventions can be seen in improved learning opportunities and educational outcomes, including WAEC examination performance, more students progressing to higher education, better care for mothers and newborns and greater access to life-changing medical treatment.

The anniversary activities began on Monday, 26 October, with a radio discussion on Ananse FM, followed by courtesy calls on traditional authorities in New Abirem, Ntronang, Hweakwae and Adausena.

The Foundation's Board and Management also visited selected projects, including the maternity ward at New Abirem Government Hospital, the ICT laboratory at Nkwarteng, Hweakwae R/C Kindergarten and the Foundation-supported Library and Reading Club at Adausena Methodist.

The visits provided an opportunity to assess progress, hear directly from beneficiary institutions, identify areas requiring further support and strengthen relationships with community leaders and partners.

The activities continued on Tuesday, 27 October, with the Foundation's annual Education and Health Support Durbar, which brought together traditional authorities, government representatives, development partners, beneficiary institutions and community members.

As part of the durbar, the Foundation presented educational resources to 17 schools, including teaching and learning materials, playground equipment, storybooks and printers. In healthcare, it handed over new patient waiting facilities at New Abirem Government Hospital, a renovated maternity ward and medical equipment at St. Michael Clinic in Ntronang, as well as essential equipment and supplies to seven CHPS facilities. The programme also provided free general health screening, counselling and referral services to over 300 people across the Birim North District.

The programme featured performances by Reading Club members and the recognition of eight pioneer Reading Club Coordinators for their dedication to promoting literacy and nurturing a culture of reading in their communities.

Addressing the gathering, the Board Chairman of Ntiamoah Foundation, Dr. Kojo Pumpuni Asante, reflected on the Foundation's twenty-year journey and the importance of sustaining its impact.

“Twenty years ago, our founder began this journey with a vision to improve lives and create opportunities for those who needed them most. Today, we see the results in our schools, healthcare facilities and the lives of individuals and families. These achievements have been made possible through the commitment of our partners and the communities we serve. As we look beyond twenty years, our focus is on building on what we have achieved and creating a legacy that will benefit generations to come.”

Through BEYOND 20, the Foundation is advancing new initiatives, including the R.K.A. Asante Scholarship Scheme, Programme B.E.A.M. and the Legacy Project, alongside continued investment in education and healthcare.

The Foundation has called on government institutions, traditional authorities, businesses, development partners and individuals to join in building this next chapter.

The Foundation will climax its 20th anniversary celebrations with a fundraising dinner gala in December, bringing together longstanding partners and supporters to reflect on its journey and mobilise support for the next chapter.

Established in 2006 by the late Robert Kwaku Appiah Asante, Ntiamoah Foundation LBG is a Ghanaian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving lives through education, healthcare and community development. Headquartered in Accra, the Foundation works primarily in underserved communities in the Eastern Region, expanding opportunities and strengthening essential services through sustained investment and partnerships.
