The Chamarajanagara Agriculture Produce Market Committee has opened a green gram procurement centre at its Santhemarahalli subdivision office to purchase farmers’ produce under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme of the government on Thursday.

Produce conforming to Fair Average Quality (FAQ) standards — concerning moisture content, foreign matter and damaged grains — will be purchased at this centre at the rate of ₹8,780 per quintal. The Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation, Bengaluru, will procure the produce. The amount will be credited to the bank account linked to the farmer’s Aadhaar card.

Farmers must submit copies of their Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTC), Aadhaar card, bank passbook and a passport-size photograph, along with their FRUIT ID, at the time of registration.

Only farmers whose names are recorded as green gram cultivators in the RTC are eligible to avail this facility.

Procurement will continue for 90 days, while registration will remain open for 80 days.

A maximum of four quintals per acre, subject to an overall ceiling of 20 quintals per farmer, will be procured under the MSP.
