Tinubu To Visit Akwa Ibom, Rivers For Project Inaugurations, APC Rallies

President Bola Tinubu will on Friday begin a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers, where he is scheduled to inaugurate projects executed by the governors and participate in political rallies organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC). From Akwa Ibom, Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for an APC rally.

President Bola Tinubu will on Friday begin a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers, where he is scheduled to inaugurate projects executed by the governors and participate in political rallies organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The President will arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, first, to commission several projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration before attending a political rally.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the projects include the new International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport.

Tinubu will also inaugurate the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

Other projects listed for inauguration are the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents to receive the President during the visit.

From Akwa Ibom, Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for an APC rally.

Onanuga said the Rivers rally would be the President’s third since he formally flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.

He added that the visits would provide opportunities for Tinubu to meet political stakeholders, party members and supporters, while promoting unity, political stability and a shared commitment to national progress.

Tinubu’s planned appearances in the two states follow his earlier indication that he would not personally attend campaign events in every state.

At the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on October 14, the President said he would not accompany the campaign team everywhere, citing his responsibilities as head of government, the country’s financial obligations and the need to attract investors.

The Kaduna rally on October 24 was his first personal appearance at a campaign event since the campaign was flagged off.
