Opposition trying to destabilise TVK-led government, says Manickam Tagore

He accuses the Opposition of attempting to create uncertainty and undermining the State’s development

TNCC president B. Manickam Tagore.

TNCC president Manickam Tagore on Thursday alleged that opposition parties were attempting to destabilise the TVK-led government by approaching its MLAs.

Supporting Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar’s allegation that the DMK and AIADMK were attempting to poach TVK MLAs with the BJP’s support, he said those who had lost power were trying to disturb the government.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mr. Tagore said senior leaders of the DMK, AIADMK, and the BJP had repeatedly questioned the stability of the government. “An honest government has been installed, honest Ministers have been appointed, and the Chief Minister has been delivering a clean administration for the past four months,” he said, adding that the Opposition was attempting to create uncertainty and undermine the State’s development.

On Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh’s allegations about foreign funding for protests in Delhi, Mr. Tagore said he should file a police complaint if he had evidence. “Such baseless claims must stop. As a Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, he should act responsibly. Who is stopping him from going to a police station if he has proof?” he asked.

He also accused the BJP of spreading misinformation to divert attention from allegations of electoral malpractice.
