The grief-stricken parents of a young woman who died in a fall at an Adelaide hotel have described their daughter as someone who "loved life and lived every minute".

Natasha Lawton died in what her family said was a "tragic and out-of-character" accident at the Rosemont Hotel on Hindley Street, where emergency services were called about 4:10am on Sunday.

In a statement released by SA Police on behalf of Ms Lawton's parents and sister, the young woman was remembered as a talented pianist and figure skater who was dearly missed by friends and family.

They said Ms Lawton had been studying to become a primary school teacher and was in her "second year of university on a high achiever scholarship".

"Tash touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed after a tragic and out-of-character accident while celebrating Halloween," her family said.

"She loved life and lived every minute she had, enjoying travel, and time spent with family and friends.

"She had an amazing future ahead of her and we feel sadness that she won't get to live out all of the things she worked so hard to achieve."

Ms Lawton's parents, who are long-term employees of SA Police, thanked first responders including a man who "first rendered assistance to Tash".

They said Ms Lawton, who also loved to ski, had a "thirst for travel" and had been "working two jobs with the NDIS and in hospitality to fund an upcoming trip to Japan".

"She was studious and excelled academically," they said.

"We are grateful for the love and support from family and Tash's friends, who have also rallied around her sister, who loves and misses her dearly."
