NAIROBI,Kenya, Nov 6- Four men have been arrested in connection with an alleged gang rape and robbery in Dagoretti, Nairobi, after detectives traced a mobile phone and SIM card reportedly used to receive money from one of the victims.

The suspects were arrested during intelligence-led operations conducted by detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Dagoretti, and the Operations Action Team (OAT) at DCI Headquarters.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the incident occurred on the night of November 1, 2026, when a young woman and her boyfriend were attacked by a gang of approximately five men as they walked to buy food.

One of the attackers was reportedly armed with a knife before the couple were overpowered and forcibly taken to Kiuru Forest.

The boyfriend sustained serious injuries and was robbed of his mobile phone but managed to escape. His female companion was allegedly held against her will and sexually assaulted by the gang before being released in the early hours of the morning.

She subsequently sought medical attention at Muthua Dispensary.

Detectives launched investigations and pursued intelligence leads that led to the arrests.

“In coordinated operations, three suspects were arrested in Kangemi, while a fourth was trailed and apprehended in Banana, Kiambu County,”DCI said.

The suspects were identified as Bradley Chahasi alias Bura, Kelvin Madaraka Afundi alias Mada Soka, Joash Etabale Omollo alias Vinny and Hannington Anangwe Musiria alias Toh.

During the operation, detectives recovered a mobile phone and SIM card allegedly used to receive money from the victim, which investigators believe could provide crucial evidence in the case.

The four suspects were subsequently presented before the Makadara Law Courts, where detectives obtained 14-day custodial orders to allow further investigations.

The DCI said the suspects remain in custody as investigators pursue additional leads, establish whether the gang was involved in other criminal activities and track down possible accomplices.
