The World Telugu Children’s Festival, ‘VVITU Balotsav-2026’, will be organised at Vasireddy Venkatadri International Technological University (VVITU) from November 5 to 7, university Chancellor Vasireddy Vidya Sagar said on Saturday.

Mr. Vidya Sagar unveiled the brochures for the festival in the presence of Registrar Y. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Convener Kande Giribabu, APPA School of Business Dean Ch. Uday Kumar, faculty members and students.

Launched in 2017, the Balotsav offers children a platform to showcase their creative talents, overcome academic stress and develop enthusiasm. Previous editions of the event attracted over 10,000 children daily, and a larger turnout was expected this year. The festival also aims to promote Telugu language, culture and traditions.

Mr. Mallikarjuna Reddy said the event encouraged healthy competition and holistic development, with technical competitions alongside cultural programmes.

Mr. Giribabu said competitions would be held in 20 major categories, covering 60 events, including elocution, Telugu poetry recitation, Telugu speaking, classical and folk dances, and music. Winners would receive first, second and third prizes, besides two consolation prizes in each category.

Free accommodation and food would be provided to outstation students and teachers.

Registration details are available at www.balotsav.in. For more information, Coordinator Nandiraju Sivaramakrishna can be contacted at 98490 48992.
