Hosted by MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL), the Accra Zonal Hackathon Pitch Competition will take place at 9:00 a.m. at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Accra.

Selected from 19 ideas presented at the Accra Bootcamp, the 10 teams have completed three days of intensive training, pitching sessions and mentorship to refine their ideas, develop prototypes and strengthen their business models. Their solutions address everyday financial needs, including security, savings, payments and payment solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Accra event concludes the zonal competitions, following bootcamps and hackathons in Tamale and Kumasi. Five teams will be selected to join their counterparts from the Northern and Middle Zones for the National Mentorship Programme, where they will receive further guidance to strengthen their solutions ahead of National Demo Day.

Commenting on the programme, Shaibu Haruna, Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Fintech LTD, said, “Through the zonal bootcamps and hackathons, we have seen promising ideas addressing challenges across different sectors of the economy.

"Participants have focused on specific community needs, including agricultural support, security for traders, and merchant solutions.

"Our focus is to help these innovators strengthen their solutions, build commercially viable business models and prepare for the next stage of the programme. We remain committed to supporting innovation that creates meaningful impact and contributes to Ghana’s digital economy.”

The MoMo Fintech Lab identifies, mentors and supports emerging innovators to develop practical, commercially viable fintech solutions that address everyday challenges, expand financial access and strengthen Ghana’s digital economy.

Beyond the competition, the programme equips participants with technical, leadership and commercialisation skills and connects them with experienced mentors and industry players. The aim is to help innovators turn promising ideas into sustainable, scalable solutions that meet the needs of individuals, businesses, and communities.

The programme will culminate in a National Demo Day on December 3, 2026, at the UPSA Auditorium. Six finalists will showcase their solutions and compete for cash awards of up to GHS 100,000, digital devices and other support to advance their innovations.
