Osmania University (OU) administration on Friday (November 06) reaffirmed its commitment to resolving employee grievances and urged staff to maintain a peaceful academic atmosphere amid recent protests and rallies.

In an effort to assure the agitated employees, University Registrar G. Naresh Reddy said discussions with employee union representatives, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram, were constructive and had not failed.

The administration said the proposed annual increment of ₹1,500 for contract employees, rejected thrice by the Executive Council, would be taken up again. It is also pursuing the Contributory Pension Scheme and plans to invest ₹14 or ₹15 crore under the Vishwas Scheme to resolve EPF issues.

The administration said demands like promotions for over 150 employees, timely DA payments and ₹10 lakh insurance coverage for employees who die in service, had been met promptly.
