BJP slams State government over hikes in bus fares and milk prices

The Kalaburagi district unit of the BJP staged a protest outside the Central Bus Stand on Friday, opposing the State government that hiked the bus fares and milk prices.
The protesters burnt an effigy to register their opposition to the government’s decisions and raised slogans against the State government and criticised the increase in the prices of essential services and commodities.
Former MP Umesh Jadhav alleged that the consecutive price hikes would impose an additional financial burden on the common people, particularly daily commuters and middle-class families.
He said the bus fare hike would affect thousands of people who depend on public transport for their daily travel, while the increase in milk prices would further strain household budgets.
He alleged that the Congress-led government was shifting the financial burden of implementing its guarantee schemes onto the common people through repeated hikes in bus fares and milk prices, instead of absorbing the additional expenditure through proper financial management.
The BJP leaders demanded that the government reconsider the price hikes and withdraw the additional burden imposed on the public.
MLA Avinash Jadhav, former MLA Dattatreya Patil Revoor, former Minister Baburao Chavan, BJP city unit president Chandrakant Patil and several party workers and supporters participated.
