President Bola Tinubu on Friday met with a delegation of Middle Belt and North-Central leaders led by retired General Theophilus Danjuma at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The delegation included the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former Chief of Army Staff, Ishaya Bamaiyi; businessman Thomas Etuh; and Dr Poju Bitrus.

The meeting was disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the President on information and strategy, in a statement on Friday.

However, the presidency did not disclose the purpose of the meeting, the issues discussed or any resolutions reached by the delegation and the president.

The meeting comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with President Tinubu increasingly engaging political stakeholders and party supporters across the country.

In a separate statement on Thursday, Mr Onanuga announced that the president would depart Abuja on Friday for a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.

According to the statement, Mr Tinubu is expected to commission several projects executed by the Akwa Ibom State Government before attending an All Progressives Congress rally in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

The Rivers rally will be his third since he flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
