Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured President Bola Tinubu of a massive turnout of supporters during his visit to the state on Saturday, expressing confidence that the presidential campaign rally will be successful.

Fubara gave the assurance when he received the Director of the Directorate of Support Groups and former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, who led a delegation of indigenous support groups on a pre-rally mobilisation road walk in Port Harcourt.

The governor described the exercise as an important step in building momentum ahead of Tinubu’s visit, saying the number of people who turn out would reflect the level of support for the President.

He said the return of peace to Rivers State had created an atmosphere for collective political engagement. He also noted that the state’s campaign coordination was being handled by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Fubara described the mobilisation as a joint effort that was already yielding positive results, assuring the delegation that the state would build on the groundwork ahead of the rally.

Earlier, Shaibu said the Directorate of Support Groups had organised similar pre-rally road walks in five states as part of preparations for Tinubu’s campaign activities.

He explained that the exercise was designed to energise residents and build anticipation ahead of the President’s arrival, adding that the Rivers mobilisation focused on indigenous support groups based in Port Harcourt.

Shaibu said Rivers State had benefited immensely from the goodwill of the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that the support groups would help mobilise residents for a successful presidential campaign rally.
