Woman, paramour get life imprisonment for murder in Kakinada

A local court sentenced a woman and her paramour to life imprisonment and imposed ₹5,000 fine for the murder of a 26-year-old man under the Kakinada Port police limits on Friday (October 23, 2026).

According to police, on January 30, 2025, Lavanya invited her husband, Gudala Chandrasekhar, to their house in TIDCO Colony in Kakinada city with a promise to return the money he had sought. Mr. Chandrasekhar had been living separately at his native place in Penugonda Mandal of West Godavari district, reportedly due to disputes with his wife.

Lavanya, with the support of her paramour Oduluri Lovaraju, beat Mr. Chandrasekhar to death with kitchen utensils made of iron on the same night, said Kakinada Port Police Circle Inspector P. Sunil Kumar.
