Konaseema Centre for Migration to launch campaign against fake agents, agencies
The Konaseema Centre for Migration (KCM) is gearing up to launch a village-level campaign against fake recruitment agents and agencies in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district to prevent locals from being stranded in the Gulf region.
The local agents are allegedly active in recruiting people—mostly women—for employment in the Gulf region, where victims are reportedly subjected to physical harassment, assigned work beyond their physical capacities, and stranded without employment.
KCM manager Golla Ramesh stated that 284 people stranded in the Gulf region had been repatriated and 128 grievances pertaining to fake agents and agencies are being redressed.
In a review meeting with the officials concerned, District Revenue Officer Veerla Subbarao directed the revenue, police, and other officials to launch a campaign against fake agents and agencies and create awareness on the employment opportunities and recruitment procedures.
