The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, joined the Member of Parliament for Kintampo North, Joseph Kwame Kumah (Jakala), and the Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Donkor, to celebrate this year's Pedia (Yam) Festival with the Mo Paramount Chief, Nana Kwaku Danquah III, and Nananom of the Mo Traditional Council.

The event, held under the theme "Rebuilding Our Cultural Heritage: Preserving Our Roots, Shaping Our Future," attracted several dignitaries, including MDCEs from Techiman South, Techiman North, Nkoranza North, and Kintampo South, as well as constituency executives from Kintampo North and South.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Owusu Antwi conveyed greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and reaffirmed the government's commitment to working with traditional authorities to develop Kintampo North.

"Government recognizes the critical role of traditional institutions in national development, and we will continue to work closely with Nananom to advance the development aspirations of our communities," he stated.

He commended the festival's theme, noting that cultural preservation is key to national identity and unity. He also urged the youth to promote peace and tolerance, and called on Nananom to remain united for the community's progress.

"A united traditional authority provides a solid foundation for peace, stability, and sustainable development. I urge our youth to embrace responsible conduct and mutual respect rather than resort to actions that could threaten our peaceful coexistence," the Minister added.

The Minister highlighted key projects for Kintampo North, including road construction, educational and healthcare infrastructure, the 24-Hour Economy Market, and the Farmers Service Centre.

In support of the celebration, Comrade Prince Opoku Mensah, Bono East Regional Organizer, presented GH₵50,000 on behalf of the government and party towards Nananom's fundraising efforts.

Nana Kwaku Danquah III thanked the Minister and dignitaries for their participation and reaffirmed the Mo community's commitment to peace, unity, and development.

"The Mo community stands for peace, unity, and development. We are grateful to the government for its continued support and engagement with our traditional council," the Mo Paramount Chief said.
