Asempa FM’s flagship current affairs programme, Ekosiisen, has won the Best Radio Programme of the Year (Ghanaian Language) award at the 30th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards.

The award recognises the programme’s work in Twi-language broadcasting and its contribution to public discourse on national issues.

The recognition came on the same night the programme’s host, Philip Osei Bonsu, popularly known as O.B., was named the 2026 GJA Journalist of the Year.

The two awards marked a notable night for Asempa FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Limited, with both the programme and its host receiving top honours.

In an earlier interview, O.B. attributed the programme’s recognition to the commitment and professionalism of his team.

“This recognition truly reflects the hard work and sense of professionalism of my incredible team on EKOSIISEN. It also reflects the sense of duty and dedication to my chosen professions: Broadcast Journalism and Law,” he stated.

Ekosiisen is Asempa FM’s current affairs programme, hosted by O.B. It covers political developments, public affairs and national issues in the Twi language.

The 30th GJA Media Awards were held in Accra on Saturday, November 7, 2026, under the theme, “Celebrating Excellence, Advancing Media Freedom and Combating Hate Speech in the Digital Age”.
