He said the investment would be channelled into initiatives aimed at driving economic transformation over the four-year period.

"Next week, the Minister of Finance will present on my behalf the 2027 budget. In this presentation, we will outline our plan on what we call the new economy. This is a bold initiative that will seek to invest over nine billion dollars ($9b) in sectors of the economy between 2027 and 20230," the president said.

The announcement comes ahead of the presentation of the 2027 Budget Statement and Economic Policy by Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson next week.

The proposed investment is expected to outline the government’s economic priorities and development agenda, especially job creation for the period, the president noted in his address at the durbar.
