Social media influencer Jason Samuel arrested in connection with death of YouTuber Harish

The Kanathur police on Thursday (October 22, 2026) arrested a 30-year-old social media influencer in connection with the death of another social media influencer and YouTuber Harish.
A police official of Tambaram Commissionerate said the Kanathur police had registered a case of abetment to suicide and arrested Jason Samuel Vijaykumar based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, J. Vinayagam.
Harish, who had gained popularity on Instagram and YouTube for providing financial advice, had died by suicide on Tuesday (October 20, 2026), the police said. It is alleged that Harish died after Jason released a defamatory video about him on YouTube.
