TG-iPASS portal to be restored in two days after cyberattack

The government has successfully regained control of the TG-iPASS portal following a cyber attack and is working to restore the website with enhanced security measures within two days.

Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy said in a statement that the portal had been recovered from the control of cyber criminals and that additional cyber security measures were being implemented before it was reopened to users.

“We have taken back control of the portal from cyber criminals. The website is being equipped with stronger cyber security firewalls and will be made available again within two days,” he said. The data relating to the industrial clearances platform remains safe on the server.

The Industries Department is strengthening the portal’s security standards to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. The enhanced safeguards are being put in place before the online platform is restored to public access.

The portal came under cyber attack on October 22, following which officials lodged a complaint with the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. TG-iPASS is Telangana’s online system for facilitating industrial approvals and clearances.
