D.K. Shivakumar
Stating that the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) will be given a new form, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said that the opinion of the committee headed by Health Minister U.T. Khader on reforming examination systems and the KPSC will also be taken.
“There is a need to reform the KPSC. Our national leaders have also warned us about reforms in education. A (Cabinet sub) committee has been set up under Mr. Khader. Home Minister Priyank Kharge and I have thought about cleansing the examination system. We have given the required guidance (to the committee) in this regard,” the Chief Minister told presspersons here. He added that it was not proper to allow money and influence to affect appointments since the children attending the examinations would have studied hard.
On the prosecution sanction given against the now-suspended IAS officer and former Controller of Examination in the KPSC, Gynanendra Kumar Gangwar, the Chief Minister said, “Some facts have emerged during investigation, and prosecution sanction has been accorded to bring out the truth in the Directorate of Enforcement and our investigation.”
