BEL to invest ₹2,500 crore in defence ecosystem in Sri Sathya Sai district

IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said on Sunday that Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Central government-owned Navratna company, was investing ₹2,500 crore to build a world-class defence ecosystem on a 914-acre site in Sri Sathya Sai district.
The facility would bring high-tech defence manufacturing to Rayalaseema, create 800 quality jobs for youth and support the growth of a supplier base, he said in a social media post. The government had thus fulfilled its commitment, he added.
