Nothing is tough for Black Maidens – Seidatu Wahab. Player of the Match, Seidatu Wahab, says the Black Maidens came into the Canada game with only one thing on their minds — victory.

Player of the Match, Seidatu Wahab, says the Black Maidens came into the Canada game with only one thing on their minds — victory.

The midfield enforcer, who led by example in Ghana's 2-0 win over Canada to send the Maidens into the Round of 16, admitted she has been down in recent matches but saved her best for the qualification decider.

"I'm really excited. Lately, in my matches, I have been down, but this is the final game. Not the final, but this is the qualification match, so I have to bring my all out," Wahab said.

"The match was really tough, but I have to show I'm a leader. So, I brought all what I have in me. We really came for a win. That's the only thing we came for. No draw, no loss, but a win."

The combative midfielder, who bossed the middle of the park against Canada, said the Maidens thrive under pressure.

"It was really a tough game, but nothing is really tough for the Maidens," she added.

Wahab reserved special praise for her support system.

"I would like to thank my best friend. Yeah, she's the person I really thank, and my parents too. My teammates, they really helped me."

Wahab was named Player of the Match after Ghana's 2-0 victory over Canada, with goals from Linda Achiaa and Christiana Ashiaku sealing Ghana's place in the Round of 16 where they will face Argentina on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
