One killed as off-road vehicle plunges into gorge at Kakkadampoyil in Keralam’s Kozhikode
The accident took place along the Koodaranhi-Kakkadampoyil route when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and plunge down the slope
A 23-year-old man was killed and seven others suffered critical injuries after an off-roaf vehicle carrying tourists veered off the road and plunged into a gorge at Kakkadampoyil in Keralam’s Kozhikode district on Sunday (October 25, 2026).
According to preliminary reports, the vehicle was carrying visitors from Marad who had arrived to tour Kakkadampoyil. The accident took place along the Koodaranhi-Kakkadampoyil route when the driver of the open vehicle reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and plunge down the slope.
While one person, identified as Asayanth, succumbed to injuries, seven of the injured passengers were found to be in critical condition, and two others sustained moderate injuries.
Local residents and emergency responders rushed to the scene immediately following the accident. The injured individuals were shifted to a private medical college hospital in Mukkam.
