Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian Senior High School has launched its Centenary Cloth and a new Krobo Old Girls Association (KOGA) cloth as part of activities to celebrate the school’s century-long legacy of academic excellence and women’s empowerment. The launch, held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Cecilia Obenewah Appiah Hall, brought together school authorities, clergy, students, old students and other guests to commemorate the institution’s contribution to quality education.

Held under the theme, “Celebrating a Century of Excellence: A Legacy of Empowering Young Women Through Quality Education,” the event highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing generations of young women through education. The ceremony was chaired by Mercy Naa Kwaakor Ampah-Bennin, while the school’s Headmistress, Bernice Noel Mensah-Akutteh, hosted the event.

Patience Asafo-Adjei, Assistant Head of Administration, outlined the purpose of the gathering, while Rev. Gideon Buenor Pulpulampu, Chairperson of the Dangme Tongu Presbytery, delivered a brief message. Speaking at the launch, the KOGA President highlighted the association’s longstanding role in preserving the school’s heritage, noting that KOGA had spearheaded the production of commemorative cloths for the institution’s major milestones over the past 50 years.

She noted that Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS had trained thousands of women who were making significant contributions in their chosen professions across the globe. The KOGA President also disclosed that the two cloths were designed by Lady Cynthia Adjoa Kumi, a member of KOGA ’93 and KOGA US, who generously contributed her time and creativity to the project.

The programme featured the official unveiling of the centenary cloth and souvenirs, a presentation on the symbolism and significance of the cloth designs, and an auction of the first pieces. Musical performances and messages from KOGA representatives also formed part of the celebration. A prayer was offered for the sustainability of the school, with hopes for its continued growth and development as it builds on its rich educational heritage.

As the school prepares to mark its 100th anniversary in March 2027, all old students were encouraged to begin preparations now and actively participate in the upcoming centenary celebrations. The milestone presents an opportunity for past students to reconnect, celebrate their shared heritage, honour the institution’s rich history and contribute to its continued growth and development.
