Centre to release ₹12,500 crore for village development after local polls: TDP legislator
TDP Garividi ZPTC candidate Kimidi Sandhya speaking in party meeting held in Garividi of Vizianagaram district on Monday.
The TDP Cheepurupalli legislator Kimidi Kala Venakta Rao on Monday said that the villages would witness significant progress as the Centre will release around ₹12,500 crore funds after completion of local body elections.
Along with party senior leaders and TDP State secretary Kimidi Mallik Naidu, he campaigned for his daughter-in-law Kimidi Sandhya, candidate of Garividi Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency in several villages of the ZPTC constituency.
Addressing the party leaders, and workers, Mr. Rao said that the conducting of local body elections was mandatory as per the rules of regulations of the Centre. He charged that YSR Congress Party leaders tried to thwart the election process to prevent the sanctioning of funds by the Union government.
Ms. Sandhya said that people’s response was good during her campaign in the ZPTC segment while exuding confidence that she will win the seat with a comfortable majority.
Ms. Sandhya will take on Botcha Poojita, daughter-in-law of Opposition leader in A.P. Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana who represented Cheepurupalli segment thrice. He was defeated by Mr. Venkata Rao in 2024 general election.
