Siddaramaiah wants both persons involved in sting operation arrested: Yathindra

Yathindra Siddaramaiah

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sought the arrest of both persons allegedly involved in a purported sting operation against him, his son, and Minister in-charge of Mysuru district Yathindra Siddaramaiah said on Monday.

Responding to reporters’ queries in Mysuru, Mr. Yathindra said the former Chief Minister had lodged a complaint seeking the arrest of the two persons to facilitate their interrogation and establish the identities of those behind the operation.

Mr. Yathindra said Mr. Siddaramaiah had been demanding the arrest of the two persons from the outset to ensure that they were interrogated and those who orchestrated the exercise were identified.

It may be recalled that Mr. Siddaramaiah had recently alleged that Kripa Alva, a woman leader of the party from Dakshina Kannada, and Rakesh Shetty, owner of Power TV, had conducted the sting operation.

Mr. Yathindra said a complaint had been filed by the former Chief Minister in connection with the operation.

“It is now the responsibility of the police to conduct a fair and transparent inquiry into the matter. We are confident that the police will probe the matter and take all the steps necessary to nab the culprits,” he said.
