Minister accuses Jagan of institutionalising political violence

Participating in a meeting, Janardhan Reddy claims demolition of Praja Vedika, targeted vandalism of TDP party offices, and constant pressure tactics against political adversaries as definitive proof of the YSRCP president’s high-handed approach

Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy.

Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Monday accused YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of institutionalising a culture of political violence and intimidation.

Speaking to the media here after a core strategy session with NDA cadres, Mr. Reddy highlighted the need for seamless ground-level coordination, balanced seat-sharing, and meticulous planning in finalising the right candidates among alliance partners.

Targeting the previous YSRCP government, the Minister alleged that opposition candidates were subjected to systematic coercion and intimidation during the 2021 local body elections. Referring to the demolition of Praja Vedika, targeted vandalism of TDP party offices, and constant pressure tactics against political adversaries, the Minister claimed they were definitive proof of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s high-handed approach.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy alleged that former Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy and Rajampet MP Peddireddi Midhun Reddy had engineered violence in Punganur. Turning to Rayachoti, he alleged a deliberate conspiracy aimed at eliminating Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, pointing to the recovery of weapons from apprehended suspects as corroborating evidence of underlying threats.

The Minister stated that policy priorities remain firmly anchored on expanding irrigation infrastructure, drawing industrial investments, and scaling up horticulture initiatives across the Rayalaseema region. The Minister further appealed to the electorate to back NDA alliance nominees across municipal, MPTC, and ZPTC polls.
