Colgate Ghana has launched an eight-week scholarship campaign in partnership with Melcom Supermarkets, offering a total of GH¢240,000 in educational support and GH¢120,000 in shopping vouchers to customers and nominated students.

The campaign, running from October to December 18, 2026, is aimed at helping Ghanaians turn everyday household purchases into educational opportunities for students across the country.

Under the initiative, customers who purchase two participating Colgate products at any of Melcom’s 54 stores can nominate a student for a scholarship. Winners will be selected weekly throughout the campaign.

Country Lead of Colgate Ghana, Edward Sonkor, said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to supporting education and helping young people build confidence.

“We have spent decades caring for smiles across Ghana, but a smile is more than healthy teeth,” he said. “A smile is confidence. It is the power that helps a child walk into a classroom ready to learn. This campaign builds a culture that celebrates learning and ensures no child is left behind.”

Each scholarship is valued at GH¢15,000, with payments made directly to the beneficiary students’ schools to cover tuition, approved levies, examination registration fees or essential educational supplies.

To participate, customers must purchase two eligible Colgate products: the 140g Herbal or Maximum Cavity Protection variants, or the 120g Charcoal Gentle Clean variant.

They can then scan the campaign QR code available in-store or send “Hi” via WhatsApp to 0257483187 to link their Melcom receipt and nominate a student.

The campaign combines consumer participation with educational support, with the organisers seeking to use the nationwide retail network to extend scholarship opportunities to students.
