Teacher trainee allowances: TTAG explains payment delays at three colleges, assures affected students

According to the association, Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education have yet to receive the necessary clearance to facilitate payment. “It was identified that clearance had not been granted for Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education, and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education,” the statement explained.

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has attributed delays in the payment of allowances to students at three colleges of education to outstanding clearance requirements.

According to the association, Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education have yet to receive the necessary clearance to facilitate payment.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 26, TTAG said its leadership had engaged the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) following complaints from trainees who did not receive their allowances during the recent disbursement.

“It was identified that clearance had not been granted for Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education, and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education,” the statement explained.

The association further disclosed that trainees of Al-Faruq College of Education who missed the recent disbursement are expected to receive their allowances before the end of October 2026.

TTAG consequently urged students across the country's 49 public colleges of education to verify their registration details and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) account status to avoid further payment delays.

“All trainees are encouraged to verify their registration details and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) account status and promptly rectify any errors or outstanding requirements to facilitate payment happening any moment from now,” the statement said.

The association assured affected trainees that it would continue engaging the SLTF and other relevant stakeholders to resolve outstanding payment challenges.

It reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all eligible trainees receive their allowances as soon as possible.
